Composers on the course have an opportunity to discuss their work in one-to-one sessions with Ian.

Composition Tutorials with Frank Lyons and Brian Keenan
22 -24 August

Under the direction of Frank Lyons, the aim of the Composition Course workshops will be to encourage participants to write a new piece for guitar, whether expanding on work already prepared or starting a piece from scratch. Composers will have the opportunity to incorporate electronics into their work using the state-of-the-art facilities in the School of Creative Arts at the University of Ulster Magee Campus. One of Ireland’s leading guitarists, Brian Keenan, will be on hand to offer advice, working closely with each composer, whatever their level of compositional experience.
