Dr. Frank Lyons is a composer whose music has been performed in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia and the USA with broadcasts on BBC,RTE and ABCFM. Recent performances of his work have been given at the Darwin International Guitar Festival, The Smithsonian Festival in Washington DC, The Aldeburgh Festival, The ICA in London, and at the Cheltenham International Festival of Music by artists such as Darragh Morgan, Carlos Bonell, Alan Banks, the Ulster Orchestra and Ensemble Noszferatu. Frank is also in demand as a lecturer; recent presentations have included those on the guitar music of Takemitsu at Darwin International Guitar Festival and on the jazz guitarist John Scofield at the Leeds International Jazz Conference.
Frank Lyons currently lectures in composition, music technology and popular music at the University of Ulster.
